So what got you interested in learning how to voice act?[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text text_lead=”small” uncode_shortcode_id=”198803″]I’ve always been interested in learning how to voice act! As a life-long Simpsons fan, I grew up listening to some of the most talented voice actors of all time. So I always felt it was something I would love to do.<\/span><\/p>\n

But radio is absolutely what got me into voiceover. Working live in a studio with a commercial producer at my first station gig was eye-opening. As was hearing my first voiceover part on a live ad. It made me cringe every time I heard it. What makes you nervous about being a voice actor?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

What’s the coolest audio gadget in your recording space?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

But just recently, I picked up a new Behringer X2442 audio board, which I am LOVING so far!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_custom_heading sub_lead=”small” uncode_shortcode_id=”178866″]<\/p>\n

What do you enjoy most about being a voice actor?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

What do you regard as your voiceover speciality?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Versatility! I can do upbeat, silly, warm\/inviting & hard sells. Although this may put me into the jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none category.<\/p>\n

Do you have any questions about learning how to voice act?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text text_lead=”small” uncode_shortcode_id=”210361″]It would be great to learn some general ways to enhance the sound\/presentation\/preservation of my voice. <\/span>There are vocal exercises that I\u2019m likely not taking advantage of that would enhance my pronunciation and preservation of my voice. It is hard sometimes doing hours of on-air recordings, voicing for in-house ads, and then sending voice auditions on top of that. Straining your vocal cords is something you should always be aware of.<\/span><\/p>\n
