But these days, in such competitive and saturated environments, you\u2019re going to need those fertilizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Hootsuite\u2019s 2022 Social Media Trends Survey,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/social-media-trends\/?utm_campaign=selfserve-tier_1_campaigns-social_trends_2022-glo-none-------q1_2022&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=trendsblogpromotion&amp;mkt_tok=NDA3LU9ZWi00ODIAAAGBzWsRWS8p-Sf_c5n98P0p6gk7MOq_PIn4StdE6pl2dYCv3T3Nwm-V9vut0DYp7z5jNa2eX46jgajUf6FRq-fHnwBgQH22TeZNFvXHglU983MrN9Xg\">43% of respondents said \u201cthe decline of organic reach and the need to increase paid advertising budgets\u201d was their biggest challenge on social media.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This challenge was second only to consistently coming up with ideas for content, which is a pretty important thing to compete with. The end times are near for pure organic growth. And social platforms have no interest in making their organic algorithms as good as the paid algorithms. So as it stands now, it\u2019s a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/f\/freemium.asp\">freemium market<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facebook once said that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ignitesocialmedia.com\/facebook-marketing\/facebook-brand-pages-suffer-44-decline-reach-since-december-1\/\">brand posts reach about 16% of their fans, which is now a measly 2.5%<\/a>. While it\u2019s always good to have content that has the capacity to grow organically \u2014 being interesting, unique and valuable \u2014 it\u2019s more important now to use the benefits of paid marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses have been realizing this over the years. You can put as much or as little as you want into it, meaning there\u2019s room for experimentation.
